Blair is an exceptional trainer but more importantly, an exceptional human being. He is able to connect to you on a personal basis and meet you where you are without judgment. My dog Shaka comes from a working class lineage and exhibits high levels of excitement and energy. Unfortunately, he had to be separated from his mother at an early age due to his mother having mastitis and did not receive proper bite inhibition and corrections from her. As he grew older, signs of aggression started to develop to the point of actually biting me causing me to receive 13 stitches.
This resulted in me to contemplate about putting him down. However, I just couldn’t find it in my heart to do it. I researched several trainers and met a few, however Blair stuck out like a sore thumb (in a good way lol). He explains things simply and coherently, but foremost made me realize that I have the power to change my situation. He put it on me to take full responsibility and stop making excuses for his puppyhood. Of course this was no walk in the park, but by taking his course seriously, I saw dramatic improvements within 1 week! Simply, I was confusing Shaka and not being clear (communication is the key – even for pups!) Being cognizant of my body language and tone along with proper E-collar training did wonders. With this being said, this is a lifelong journey of leadership and is not easy. But as it said, nothing worth having comes easy.
In addition, Shaka has numerous allergies and gets chronic ear infections and rashes. Blair recommended a company for allergy testing and to our dismay, we’ve been feeding him food he was allergic to the whole time! After using their supplements and transitioning his food, he hasn’t had any ear infections or rashes!
In closing, Blair truly saved Shaka and will tell you he is your dogs #1 advocate. My wife and I are forever grateful for Blair and his family. Thanks Brother!
